Activities at BriteLife
Make every day an adventure
* In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, some activities are being restricted to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our clients and staff.
We embrace a variety of therapies at BriteLife. Our staff certainly values the importance of traditional talk therapy as well as individual and group counseling. However, we also firmly believe that participating in other recreational activities, both indoor and outdoor and ranging in exertion levels, is a vital component of a holistic and productive treatment program. The positive elements of our adventure therapy activities are proven to have healing abilities in many clients and help liberate and re-train the mind. This exposure helps with the psychological aspect of addiction recovery and also aids in the treatment of any co-occurring disorders that may be present. There are certainly physical benefits as well.

WHY IT’S IMPORTANT
The greatest adventure is what lies ahead
The mental and physical benefits of adventure therapy, especially for those in recovery, are immeasurable. While some activities can be enjoyed alone, many are performed in groups. Either way, these activities are tremendous tools for restoring self-esteem, learning to work with others and developing other crucial skills. It also presents many opportunities for individuals to learn about themselves. For many clients, these are activities they typically don’t participate in, so the exposure to new outlets is an effective way to recalibrate the mind, body and soul.
Many of our adventure therapy activities are held outdoors, which allows individuals to enjoy the great therapeutic value found in nature. Whether it be the sights, sounds or simply the fresh air, there is an inherent happiness and calming effect found in such an environment. Such a setting helps create a new perspective not only on life, but on who you are and what you want to become.
